Why is Early Intervention so Important for Children With Special Needs?
Children with Special Needs require very structured teaching, and a longer time to assimilate & practice newly learn't tasks.
Those whose needs are identified, acknowledged and addressed at an early age tend to master skills more readily than those whose needs are only met later.
Using the 'Carolina Curriculum for infants & toddlers/Pre schoolers with Special Needs' as an assessment tool and progress record, an effective and comprehensive Individual Early Education Programme (covering all major developmental domains: cognition; communication; social and emotional behaviour; creativity; fine and gross motor skills) can be designed, implemented, monitored and revised for each child.

How can Sensory Modulation Help?
Sensory Modulation is the ability to attain, maintain and change our arousal levels appropriately to any given task or situation.
Some children have difficulty regulating their arousal level and this can have a major impact on learning, attention, behaviour and even sleeping patterns.
The use of sensory-motor tools, and the introduction of a 'sensory diet', can help children regulate their own over or under-stimulated nervous system.
The inclusion of some simple sensory modulation techniques in the intervention programmes of children with dyslexia, ADHD, CP, ASD, (and many other conditions) can be helpful in reducing negative behaviours, improving academic performance, promoting functional communication and enhancing social skills development.
